Hi, I am Hamtaro126, I come here from NESDEV and Youtube, of which Tepples knows of a lot.

I also am a member of other forums and wikis, and I have a interest in video game history, protos and hacks. I hear a lot of video game music, My favs include Sunsoft and Tecmo music.

I have a big love for the Hebereke Series, He is Sunsoft's True Mascot.

Da Do Run Run [sic][edit]

Welcome to the wiki.

I'm having a little trouble understanding what you meant here. (I've marked the section title "[sic]" because the correct spelling is Da Doo Ron Ron.)

Were both of the versions in question created officially by The Crystals, or is one a cover made by some other band? Eighty5cacao 16:14, 20 November 2011 (MST) (proofread 06:52, 13 August 2013 (UTC))

I actually deleted that part for these reasons: it is almost the same song, and they are variant with the name change in the lyrics (His Name is Jill vs. His name is Bill) and one is by a different author.

The Crystals did not do it first as I thought, The first one is from Shaun Cassidy

The original: Shawn Cassidy - Da Doo Run Run (1977) The variant: The Crystals - Da Doo Run Run (1986)

And I do not know if it is official, may look it up!

That's what we call a cover version. Someone writes a song, one recording artist records the song, and another artist records the same song. They both licensed the song from the same songwriter, perhaps through a private or government-run copyright clearinghouse, and they both give credit in the liner notes. The "Songs that sound alike" pages are for cases of plagiarism, or copying without attribution. --Tepples 11:09, 21 November 2011 (MST)
