Rule 34
You mentioned rule 34, but I have not yet seen any adult content in your works. Could you clarify what you meant? (Does it have anything to do with Wolfram's Rule 34?)
About where would the first SUGallery demo fit on a rating scale like that of the ESRB? Eighty5cacao 11:23, 26 November 2010 (MST) (last edit 17:48, 26 November 2010 (MST))
- AO (18+), but no higher than T (13+) if the pics are excluded. The idea arose out of a discussion on irc.efnet.org#nesdev about ways to fill an SUROM in a homebrew production. Someone suggested making a slideshow of porno pics. Then I came up with an excuse plot that turned out to be a lot like Frank's Adventure, which I had never heard of at the time. By "Rule 34" I was referring to drawings of Nintendo characters on a site like paheal.net. --Tepples 19:42, 27 November 2010 (MST)
- For the record, I was already aware of the usual meaning of Rule 34 and of the existence of paheal.net, but I didn't want to believe that you would get involved with that. Am I correct in assuming that the adult content in your first SUGallery demo would focus on original characters created by you? Do you plan any future uses of the SUGallery engine that fall in the E to E10+ range? Eighty5cacao 20:47, 27 November 2010 (MST)
- The engine would be free software, but the nudie pics would be of Nintendo characters. I would fully comply with Nintendo takedown requests, forward them to Paheal, and possibly use it as a starting point to help get the abominable repro section on retrousb.com shut down. As for an E-rated version, one can replace the porn books with children's books, in much the same style as the Rosalina books in Super Mario Galaxy. --Tepples 08:24, 28 November 2010 (MST)

Ok, but to change the topic back: Can you confirm or deny whether Wolfram's Rule 34 has ever been involved in your plans — at least as an Easter egg? (I had this xkcd strip in mind.) Eighty5cacao 00:48, 28 April 2011 (MST)
- No, Wolfram's cellular automata have never been in my plans. --Tepples 08:44, 28 April 2011 (MST)
- In fact, change of plans: Nothing explicit, just innuendo pics. --Tepples 13:30, 30 April 2011 (MST)
- Ok. Does anything from this discussion need to be mentioned in the article? (
Sorry, I haven't yet done my NESdev forum reading for the day. I couldn't find any recent discussions on the NESdev forum that mention SUGallery.) Eighty5cacao 15:34, 30 April 2011 (MST) (last edit 20:45, 30 April 2011 (MST))
- That's because this project is on hiatus until I finish Thwaite. Currently this is the closest thing to an SUGallery thread. --Tepples 04:16, 1 May 2011 (MST)

Ok, but do you want me to update/clarify the article in any way? Eighty5cacao 10:20, 1 May 2011 (MST)
I boldly mentioned the hiatus, though I wasn't sure how to work tvtropes:DoubleEntendre (allthetropes:Double Entendre) into "The gallery" section. Eighty5cacao 20:16, 1 May 2011 (MST)
Done, though I ended up linking to tvtropes:IfYouKnowWhatIMean instead. Eighty5cacao 11:52, 2 May 2011 (MST)
- tvtropes:IfYouKnowWhatIMean has been redirected to tvtropes:DoubleEntendre and may be in danger of deletion; will fix ASAP. Eighty5cacao 12:40, 8 June 2011 (MST)
Cheap and forgettable
In the "Battery RAM" section, you used these adjectives to describe Ultima: Exodus. Why? I assume it is meant to give hints on the availability/rarity of the game. Do we need to cite sources that review the game using similar adjectives?
If you object to a removal of these adjectives, should we at least move them to the first mention of Ultima: Exodus a couple paragraphs up?
(I have never played the game and as such have no COI.) Eighty5cacao 16:18, 16 July 2011 (MST)
- The "forgettable" part is just what I've heard on NESdev IRC and NESdev BBS. As for "cheap", see the list in the NintendoAge.com e-zine, volume 4, issue 9 (November 2010) (free reg. req.) that approximates recent eBay selling prices of every game released during the NES's original commercial era. It lists Ultima: Exodus (SNROM + battery) at $5, The Legend of Zelda (same mapper) at $11, and Dragon Warror III and IV (SUROM + battery) at over $30. --Tepples 17:14, 16 July 2011 (MST)
