Category:Soft redirects

We don't have an article about everything, nor do we feel the need to. So we occasionally have a stub page, created with the {{soft redirect}} template, telling the reader where to find an article about the same topic. Most of these soft redirects will be to Wikipedia, if the topic is adequately covered in scholarly or mainstream media, or to another wiki.

Occasionally, someone will copy-and-paste an article from some other web site, sometimes with words replaced by their synonyms. This is spam (because almost all of these articles are out of project scope) and a copyright violation (because the articles are copied and pasted yet not attributed to authors). But when an administrator deletes the article, that just opens the door for the spammer to repost it. So the admin may make a soft redirect page and protect it.
