I am aware that Tepples will re-run the report periodically, so I will use User:Eighty5cacao/misc/completed trope migrations instead of performing any more manual strikeouts. --Eighty5cacao (talk) 18:58, 30 May 2014 (UTC)
Is there a reason that the script does not put a colon in front of the page title to "escape" the namespace (i.e., [[:File:A winrar is Tommy Himi.jpg]]
produces File:A winrar is Tommy Himi.jpg)? --Eighty5cacao (talk) 18:58, 30 May 2014 (UTC)
Is this project an exception to the usual rule about not editing archives? (If not, should trope.php
do something different when the referer looks like a talk archive?) --Eighty5cacao (talk) 18:58, 30 May 2014 (UTC)
trope:
to tvtropes:
. --Tepples (talk) 16:27, 31 May 2014 (UTC)It might be a good idea to let Archive Team know about All the Tropes and other Orain wikis by creating archiveteam:Orain, in case Orain runs into financial trouble at some future time. --Eighty5cacao (talk) 22:52, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
Why was this link in Lesbian not caught by the report? Some corruption in the links
table perhaps? (Admittedly, I had not checked WhatLinksHere or any other special pages prior to making that edit, so I have no idea what kind of glitch might (have) exist(ed).) --Eighty5cacao (talk) 04:47, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
Said links were not part of any database report we ran, nor could they have been migrated. Therefore, I'm questioning our decision to change trope:
to point to AtT.
Would it be sufficient to modify one of the system messages used on action=history
pages to add explanatory text, or do you have a better suggestion? --Eighty5cacao (talk) 00:53, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
trope:
links may break if we make the decision to use another wiki as our primary trope wiki, the text of a page to which an edit summary links may itself change. Apart from edit summaries to the effect "content imported from this other URL under license", an edit summary isn't quite as critical for CC-BY attribution as, say, the username of the editor. Whatever we decide here will affect the exact wording of the message at the top of history pages. Besides, I could make an argument based on licensing policy that ATT is the true continuation of the original pre-2012-07 TV Tropes, and the current wiki at TVTropes.org is the fork. --Tepples (talk) 16:05, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
