Rayxanber III was released on June 26, 1992. Yume Nikki (version 0.00) was released on June 26, 2004. Coincidence? (Yes.)
For context, Rayxanber is a trilogy of shmups with no detailed plot stated in game.
Perhaps the Zoul Empire homeworld fought in Rayxanber III was just a decoy, and the Zoul actually have some supernatural nature involving a psychic/dream dimension, in addition to their biological and cybernetic parts.
I originally got the idea while playing back the Aztec Rave Monkey theme on top of Rayxanber III's title screen in YouTube; I only found out later about the coincidence of release dates. --Eighty5cacao (talk) 06:40, 8 February 2020 (UTC) (+ 05:04, 12 February 2020 (UTC))
