For flexibility reasons, this probably shouldn't apply
formatting. Wikipedia's {{tl}} does not apply any formatting; {{tl2}} and {{tlx}} do. See also Uncyclopedia's {{tl}}. Should we create a new template under a different name for the version that applies
? Eighty5cacao 21:32, 19 October 2010 (MST)

As I understand it, the output of {{tl}} is always a fragment of computer code, namely MediaWiki markup. The
element in HTML is intended for fragments of computer code. Where were you planning to use a {{tl}} without the
? --Tepples 11:01, 20 October 2010 (MST)
No place in particular. I just mainly wanted consistency with other wikis, and I felt that the monospaced font used by
might be harder to read. Eighty5cacao 13:36, 20 October 2010 (MST)
I'll take that as a request to turn on $wgAllowUserCss. Now that I've done that, you can re-style
elements in Special:Mypage/monobook.css. But in the default stylesheet, I want
to look like the that I'm typing this into. --Tepples 05:40, 21 October 2010 (MST)
