Template talk:Soft redirect
Should this template have a parameter that removes the link to the talk page (or points it to an alternate target), for use in the event that the talk page is also a spam target?
Oh, and sorry for not exercising better wiki-manners on the page where this template is currently used. Eighty5cacao 16:19, 7 November 2010 (MST)
- IMHO, talk pages that are persistent spam targets should be redirected to other, more visible talk pages before protection, just like missing articles that are spam targets should be redirected somewhere. If there were an article about fruit in DX Town, for example, I would have pointed Acai to the article section just below Coconut, and Talk:Acai to Talk:Fruit in DX Town. Soft redirects are just the way I've chosen to do this when "somewhere" happens to be another site. And I saw your first-aid response to spam as perfectly civil, especially on a tiny wiki still at the "Rules to consider" stage rather than the "Five Pillars" stage. --Tepples 17:13, 7 November 2010 (MST)
- I admit to a poor choice of words. By "not ... better wiki-manners" I meant not so much "uncivil" as "unconventional" or "illogical" (though the use of bold text might admittedly have been a little rude). Eighty5cacao 17:43, 7 November 2010 (MST)
Intra-wiki soft redirects
Are there any plans for a template and/or category to mark soft redirects within this wiki?
I know that intra-wiki soft redirects SHOULD NOT be created just like on Wikipedia, so the answer is probably no. But it doesn't hurt to ask, right?... Eighty5cacao 00:14, 14 May 2012 (MST) (last edit 22:40, 19 July 2012 (MST))
