Talk page equivalent
Is there any point to creating a version of this template for use on talk pages, where the problem of being misinterpreted as shouting is at least as important as in articles?
Or does our policy imply that RFC 2119 compliance SHOULD NOT be attempted in talk namespaces? Eighty5cacao 16:24, 31 January 2012 (MST)
- I will make a version of this template for talk pages. I cannot do so right now. The big barrier is the interaction between ParserFunctions and table markup. --Tepples 18:24, 31 January 2012 (MST)
- Could you clarify why that is a problem? Do you want to have a template that detects the namespace in which it is used and adjusts its wording accordingly (possibly displaying an error message outside talk spaces)? Eighty5cacao 19:41, 31 January 2012 (MST)
- It's supposed to be used on any page that uses RFC 2119 key words. I was planning on making it appear as a tan box when used on talk pages, like Wikipedia does. But perhaps a better long-term solution would be to implement something like the
{{mbox}}
architecture that Wikipedia has. --Tepples 06:00, 1 February 2012 (MST)
