It seems to be that Hardware Acceleration, which is utilized by the latest versions of flash, are reducing CPU load by anywhere from 5 to 40%. Unfortunately for Apple, Adobe is "considering" enabling hardware acceleration in future updates (http://blog.streamingmedia.com/2010/03/test-results-published-show-flash-is-not-a-cpu-hog-like-apple-claims.html). People think HTML 5 is the future, but the only benefit I see is less bandwidth use and royalty-free codecs. Stuttering, freezing, buffering, slow or unresponsive quality changes....
