Is hatnote necessary?[edit]

"Concentration" does not currently redirect to this article. If Wikipedia guidelines apply here, then the hatnote probably should not be used until consensus exists to create the redirect. Or do you have some other good reason the hatnote should stay? Eighty5cacao 15:21, 2 November 2011 (MST)

The whole story of the game is based on a disambiguation joke between "concentration" as in the card game and "concentration" as in what goes down over a plasma half-life. (It had previously been between the card game and internment camps until Shiru suggested this one.) I guess I've been applying slightly looser disambiguation standards more akin to the "not to be confused with" lines at the end of the lead section of a lot of trope pages, many of which are there solely to be funny. See, for example, the fun at the bottom of Gannon-Banned, involving canon, cannons, and cans. --Tepples 15:57, 2 November 2011 (MST)
And for what it's worth, the "Disambiguating article names that are not ambiguous" guideline is under dispute - notice that wikipedia:WP:NAMB has been changed to point to a discussion on the talk page tagged with {{under discussion}}. --Eighty5cacao (talk) 00:58, 1 March 2013 (UTC) (last edit 00:27, 3 March 2013 (UTC) )
For the record, "Gannon-Banned" was moved to tvtropes:FandomBerserkButton and no longer contains the specific joke in question. --Eighty5cacao (talk) 03:54, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
All the Tropes didn't rename it. --Tepples (talk) 12:58, 15 July 2014 (UTC)

Convert Camp to soft redirect[edit]

Could we convert Camp to a soft redirect (that kind, not that kind), using wording as close as possible to the following:

This page has been blanked as a courtesy.

See Concentration Room.

(with appropriate link to Wikipedia's courtesy blanking policy)? If not, should we at least put an {{OOU box}} on this article explaining the situation? Eighty5cacao 13:25, 14 May 2012 (MST)

I prefer the hard redirect because it means the blanked page is less likely to end up ranked high in search engines. From Google's point of view, it's a page move. But I will drop a note on the &redirect=no page. --Tepples 13:45, 14 May 2012 (MST)
Is that worth reconsidering given the existence of the magic word __NOINDEX__? --Eighty5cacao (talk) 05:12, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
