Compatibility with translation convention
In User talk:Tepples/Archive 1#Fictional continuity, you said, "...the representation of the language of the main characters is a translation convention." That seems to suggest that the true forms of the languages should have very few words that are recognizably similar to those of real-world languages. - Languages of the game world will have words similar to real-world languages purely by chance, even if I try to avoid false cognates. As for attractors, if we can identify them (e.g. mama and papa terms), we can assume that the same processes apply as much to the human-descended races in the game world as to H. sapiens here. I've edited the article's OOU box to explain how the translation convention is supposed to work. What remains misunderstood? --Tepples 19:01, 12 December 2011 (MST)
