I work night shift 20 miles away, in an area serviced by a bus agency different from the one I have at home (SamTrans at work, VTA at home). Therefore bus is extremely impractical, even if the bus lines that serve the roads I need to use are open 24 hours.
The alternative for public transit is train (Caltrain), but it uses zone-based fare as opposed to distance-based, and a three-zone round trip, much less a three-zone monthly pass, is expensive.
The SF Bay Area is really just not built around public transit. You have to have a car if you want to reliably get anywhere. One of my friends moved here, but was unable to find work because they did not have their own vehicle. Ray Marina (talk) 10:33, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
Hi, I think now that we're in Corona times, the article should at least have a section about how things are different now with the Corona.
